Paris - Day 2
Day 2 in Paris was a whole heap of schlep... we got off at Charles de Gaulle — Étoile which is very near the awesome roundabout that is the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile. We spent some time under, around, in, then on top of this awesome monument - the views from it are truly breathtaking.
From here we walked... slowly and in the shade... towards the Tour Eiffel - approaching the Tour from the Trocadéro side was intentional (I was recommended to by my Project Lead at work) and dramatic. The Tour dominates the skyline and is a wonder of the world of now.
We didn't go up the Tour... preferring to sit in the Parc du Champs de Mars and gaze in wonder. I called my mom... to tell her where I was. Its that kind of special.
Afterwards... we walked to l'Hôtel national des Invalides where Napoleon's final resting place is (within six coffins). The golden roof of the church is breathtaking too.
We then caught the Metro... headed to les Halles where we grabbed some pizza in a fab wee pizzeria... before catching the RER for home.
Another day as awesome as it was tiring. The rest of my pics are available here.
Tx

Really enjoyable set of photographs - well done! I liked the ones inside L'Hotel national des Invalides very much; what a beautiful ceiling!
