I am now the proud caretaker of the above Peugeot Carbolite 103. I say "caretaker" because I can't really keep it... Olly won't let me... I have my BSA... and I'm sure there is someone out there more deserving of this bike.
That said, I intend to give it a clean up & have a ride on it... and, who knows, my stewardship may last as long as the Stewards of Gondor (geek reference).
Will post pics of it all sparkly. I'm going to submit it to the old ten speed gallery too.
Thanks to Alex at my work for his kindness.

So.... you'll be needing to pass it on to someone then? I may be interested, assuming I can return the old borrowed mountain bike in my cupboard....
How does it ride? Are the brakes usable on the drops when they're positioned that high?
I don't know how it rides as yet... from my initial inspection it looks like it needs new tyres, some WD40 and a clean.

Suddenly realised you may not have made the link between my comment and who I was - I'm twitter.com/benthorp and also on the emerging scotland group on ning ;)
Ben...
I kind of thought it may be you... its yours if you want it and will obsess about it as much as I do about my BSA :-)
It needs tyres. I will give it a clean & tidy but it does need tyres. That said... they are 700s so you should be able to get them for a tenner each in Halfords.
My wife thanks you!

Woohoo! :) I'm about to start a new job a lot closer to home (ie finally within proper cycling distance). If I can manage to return the mountain bike I borrowed last time I tried a bit of cycling, then I will definitely take it :) Been dreaming of a road bike for a while
