I've become a bit obsessed with looking up. If you follow my pics on Flickr I like to capture skylines... preferably with big chunks of sky.
Tonight... as I was in Bellshill... I noticed the design detail of the street lamps on the main street. They have an interesting style... unusual... different from "standard" street lamps... and I just stopped to appreciate them.
I like intentional design like this... but I have to wonder how many folk have actually noticed them.
It comes down to awareness and appreciation of our surroundings, I guess.
So yeah... to North Lanarkshire Council... nice job!

I enjoy taking photos of cloud formations but would probably have missed this design. It is good to see such design as it enhances our visual urban experience. Well spotted!
