That "wumman" is Miss Kirby... my first Sunday School teacher!
OK, not really, but her name apparently is Miss Kirby, and she is indeed a Salvationist. It's a piece of stock photography from Corbis.com - go there and search for "Salvation Army" to find her :)
Oh, a final note - I didn't go looking for this photo intentionally! I was just looking through some stock images and found it by accident... honestly.
